Very underwhelming. Food was fine, but nothing more. Mediocre service, and never actually pinpointed who our server was. Beautiful outdoor seating areas though.

Bed short ribs were solid. Tasty fine-ish dining stop in a desert oasis, perhaps not worth the trip on its own, but solid for resort dining and for sure the best fine dining in a 40 mile radius. Meals were classic standards with table service that tries to please vs tries your patience. The Cambozola Cheese plate will not win novelty points from the Instagram crowd, but we finished it off and would do again. Minestrone was served warm (w sausage? no pasta) was pleasant, but the hot rolls w butter were a bigger hit at our table. Meatloaf, Beef short ribs, Mushroom risotto, and stuffed shell pasta were served up and had no complaints and came with pretty presentations. Prices were very reasonable.

Definitely worth a drive from San Diego to Borrego Springs. The food at the Fox bistro is absolutely exquisite. The flavors are amazing. The choices are endless. Attention to detail is absolute perfection. Take a day trip or treat yourself and spend a few nights at this fabulous resort. La Casa del Zorro Borrego Springs, California.#yourrealtordeirdre

While staying at Casa del Zorro in Borrego Springs we had dinner at the Fox Bistro. Delicious drinks prepared by Jerry, the bartender started us off. I had the wedge salad, one of the best I’ve eaten. Lots of bacon, blue cheese and drizzle of balsamic vinegar on top of the dressing. The Chilean sea bass was moist, firm and impressively presented atop expertly done risotto with a citrus sauce complimenting the dish. A bottle of Napa Valley Rutherford Vintners Cab paired well even with fish. Given the heavy rain and flood warnings today, they were prepared to handle the crowd of visitors and locals that visited this evening. Thank you!

Not good in the least.
Rather limited options for lunch. Ugliest presentation -- dressings in plastic bowls, stacked food... Shameful!
Cheap quality, too. From greasy fish and chips to sandwich presented in a soggy French roll with some watery jus. Had a stomach ache even before making to the room.
Totally overpriced, even more considering such cheap quality and presentation.

A beautiful property, and we booked a dinner reservation at a busy time the day after Thanksgiving. Undoubtedly due to staffing issues the scene was extremely disappointing. We opted simply to leave and return home for dinner. Hopefully this nice restaurant will be able to overcome the present challenges and once again reflect the excellence of its past. For the moment it’s something we could not recommended.

Such a lovely rustic elegant venue. Food is consistently really good. Been going there for 50 years and will go again soon.

The Beyond Burger is delicious and grilled on its own grill so no worries of it getting any dairy or other meat byproduct on the patty. The spinach salad was also vegan friendly, minus the cheese, and very tasty. Only bummer is they don't deliver to the room/Casita. You have to order then go pick it up.
