Bob's Shrimp

The BIGGEST and best 10pc shrimp EVER! The ladies are so fast and efficient. I also ordered the fried Cauliflower. It was bland. This time, however, they were out of the dinner slaw and substituted it with an extra sauce, ha! I also ordered their Catfish Fillet Dinner, which was slightly disappointing. The dinner had a small amount of fish and a basket FULL of fries. I've been twice within 2 months and will return again just for the shrimp. Great tarter sauce too! UPDATE: Why is there an open box of floured food next to the register? The lady was kinda rude today 4/16/22 -- Hmmm

My husband introduced me to this place when we started dating close to 20 years ago. It was our place to go for fried shrimp. We go there often. It was always good. We went last week and the portions, and freshness were not the same. A lot of restaurants are doing cut backs and raising their prices. I understand raising prices but don't cut back. That just makes the customers not want to go back. Hopefully next time I go it's as good as it's always been and this was just a bad day.

Bob’s Shrimp. This little dive in East Chicago Indiana really throws down with some Jumbo Shrimp. With a rather thin menu they do fried American seafood to perfection. The no nonsense cash only cashier/cook is feisty and and tosses/prepares orders whilst taking orders and cashing folks out, never failing to crack a joke and a smile. The texture of the Jumbo shrimp was on point a little resistance to each bite but melt in your mouth beautiful white shrimp texture. The batter fried completely and meticulously around the prawn with precision and measured accuracy. The tartar sauce was delicious and creamy with bits of tart to keep it interesting. Served with crinkle cut French fries it’s a great meal for a good price considering the market. Bravo Bob! I’m a fan!

Absolutely amazing shrimp. Their sauce is also very good and unique. Not a traditional Midwest BBQ sauce. Only negitive is the parking lot isnt too truck friendly. Small and busy from all their customers. Definitely a order and go place. No dine in options, but that's by design so I don't hold it against them. The food is awesome, and it's another iconic food joint of the region that has stood the test of time. Try it for yourself to see why.

I had not been there in about 2 yrs. They remodeled inside, but still take out only. I used to ❤️ their 🍤 dinner, but maybe they're trying to save money or something, but what I ate was HORRIBLE! The fries tasted greasy. The shrimp had a different type of breading on it and I could have tolerated the breading except it had no seasoning! I had to make myself finish the shrimp, I can't afford to waste my money. The fries I threw away.. oh and the sauce was bland TOO!😔!!! Will not be going back. Hopefully they will go back to what made them Bob's shrimp!!
