Barge Inn

Great food affordable prices and quick through the dive thru. Got a double quarter pounder with cheese fully dressed and tater tots. Had it fresh off the grill and out of the fryer in less that 5 minutes. The did was hot and the taste was spectacular. I highly recommend visit them if you're on your way to and from tell city. Great friendly service as well

I'm a fan of vintage roadside diners like this one. Brings back memories of a simpler time for those of us of a certain age. I live in Evansville, but I like to stop by and get a burger or ice cream cone when I'm on a day trip to some of the area's quaint attractions. The Barge Inn has good food and generally good service. One thing I don't like though: they have an outside window where you can order to food to go. However, the one window is both for customers on foot AND for vehicles. I prefer to park my vehicle then walk up. But it's annoying to try do that when there are cars in line. Or you walk up and order, THEN somebody pulls up in a vehicle and gets in the way. I'm not a fan of that. I wish they had a dedicated window for walk-up only. The burgers are pretty good, but you might want to tell them to make it well-done. A couple I've gotten have been somewhat rare for my taste. But I've also gotten ice cream cones dipped in chocolate, and they're excellent. As vintage roadside diners go, Barge Inn is good. But there are some other nearby ones I like better.
