Sammy's Smokehouse Bbq

The drive-thru was busy. We went inside. Kinda wished I had not gone inside because it is old and dirty. BUT the food was honestly quite tasty and we would eat from there again! Only wished they had pulled pork...I didn't see it as an option, but I may have missed it. I had the pork loin sandwich, which was a little hard to eat as a sandwich because they stacked it so high (not a complaint). My husband had the chopped beef. Both were good and worth getting again.

I ordered a half chicken plate for lunch and a 5 rib plate for my co worker. The chicken was dry. It had good flavor, but the dark meat was dry so I knew that the breast was going to be pretty rough. I think when or if you could get the chicken fresh or as soon as it comes out of the pit the better. The beans and the potato salad had a great flavor. The seasoning on the chicken was fantastic. My co worker liked his food and thought the ribs were decent. We both felt that we got a good deal considering flavor, portion size and cost. The one thing we agreed on was that we were not a fan of the barbecue sauce. I would consider dining there again and possibly trying something else from the menu.

I can tell you this - you can tell the difference in the staff in the kitchen. I went to this place twice in one day. Well let's just say the second visit there was a stark contrast in the FOOD prepared than my earlier visit in that day. The meat was under cooked and the potatoe salad was bland. ALSO, the sausage was beef - I had pork sausage on my earlier visit! Need I write more?! I don't really like to give into stereotyping but, OMG it's true.
